ExRate Privacy Policy

ExRate (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is a currency converter app for iOS. This page explains what data the App and its third-party services collect and how it’s used.

Data we collect directly

The App itself does not require an account, sign-in, or personal information. Currency amounts and unit settings you enter are stored only on your device, in storage shared with the App’s widget, to show your last-used values on the Home Screen widget and Lock Screen.

To display exchange rates, the App sends the currency codes you select to a third-party rates API (Frankfurter). No personal or device-identifying information is included in these requests.

Advertising

The App shows ads served by Google AdMob. To provide and measure these ads, Google and its partners may collect:

• Your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt
• Approximate location (derived from IP address)
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
• Device information (model, OS version)

If you decline tracking, or in regions where required by law, ads are shown without using your advertising identifier (“non-personalized” ads).

Your choices

• iOS App Tracking Transparency: You can allow or deny tracking when prompted, or change your choice anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
• EEA / UK / Switzerland users: On first launch, you can review and change your ad consent choices through the consent form shown in the App, and revisit them anytime with the Privacy Settings button at the top of the App’s main screen.
• Google ad personalization: You can manage how Google personalizes ads through your Google Account’s Ad Settings.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention

We do not operate a backend or account system, so we do not retain your personal data. Data collected by Google AdMob is retained and processed according to Google’s own privacy policy, linked above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
